You would need a midrange baffle witdth of appoximately 1/2 meter, i.e speed of sound (340m/sec)/crossover freq(-3db down)/2. For a technical discussion see linwitz labs -

http://www.ademco.com.pl/ademco/project7.htmlAs a longtime AlonIV owner I'll state that dipoles mids are a wonderful approach. The IVs & Vs with a nominal woof/mid crossover of 400hz uses an 11" wide baffle, wile the Alon IIs with a nominal xover freq of 500hz uses a 9" wide baffle.
