I've been considering making a set of these to place under my CDP. After checking the old posts I began to wonder if the rollerblocks are still popular and what recipe is the favorite around here. Please provide details on where to obtain parts. Thanks!

Take caps off of old 'to be thrown away' prescription pill plastic containers or from snapple bottles. Place theses caps open face down so that there will be some compliance when carrying some weight concentrated on diy bearings placed on top of the caps. Place the device to be isolated gently onto the top of the diy bearings. Make sure you balance so that your device is not unstable and at risk of rolling off the bearings. For diy bearings use marbles, rubber, plastic balls. If you use plastic balls make sure you use enough under the device so that they don't self destruct from the weight.
Not as good as aurios but way better than tip toes/cones/pucks imo.
I made a set using freeze plugs, and chrome ball bearings, as I don't have access to an engine lathe. I recessed three plugs into blocks of maple, and cast the other three in a small plastic bowl mold, using polyresin. The improvement was not subtle. The real pain came from having to grind and then polish the plugs because a part # was stamped on the inside. I think you'll hear an improvement regardless
of which way you go.... So....Go fot It!!! and enjoy
There are several designs you can read about by searching the Tweak/DIY forum on this site. Here are two of my designs (one at ~$1.25/set):

Happy Listening!
www.smallparts.com - for various kinds of steel/chrome/titanium balls. They have various sizes, including a "sampler" if you're not sure.Spoons should be available for $1-2 at a local housewares shop. Try Lechters if there's one near you. I like it with a spoon on both top and bottom and a 1" ball in between.
Others have DIY designs that require machining. Search the archives. One fellow aid he may be able to make a set for costs if enough people are interested.
Enjoy,
Bob
I took some larger spoons (tablespoon size) and cut off the handles. I cut some 3"x3" oak squares from 3/4" thick board and used a router bit to cut a small concave depression into the oak to accomodate the spoons. I glued the spoons into the oak squares using some construction adhesive. I used 3 of them under my CDP, amp and preamp with the spoon facing down with a 5/8-3/4" steel ball bearing under each spoon. The bottom surface is just a small square of heavy steel or sheet metal (anything hard and smooth). It takes some time to get them balanced well but when you get them right, they work very well (a nice tweak).
