I've used these Dayton jacks where I didn't want to use something more expensive. I can't judge any sonic characteristics they may have, but their finish and phsyical construction is pretty nice; they look quite similar to the Vampire jacks though the gold plating doesn't appear to be as well done.

Sorry I do not know what they're made of; there's no info on the packaging.
