Hi,
i have a pair of Allison Ones i am using as a bass trap. I would like to modify them so they will absorb lower frequencies. Let me describe them. Each speaker is about 4' tall and triangular. They are made to go against a wall. There is a divider in the middle that splits the speaker into two sealed chambers. Each chamber is a sealed acoustic suspension speaker of 1.8 cubic feet in volume. The mid and tweeter are solid units that completely block the holes they sit in.
What i was thinking, was to remove at least the midrange and tweeter driver, and possibly drill a few more holes. Then i thought i should stuff the chamber with fiberglass and fiberfill. Then tack a fabric over the front panel. Any idea where i could get suitable fabric? They are sitting behind my speakers, and some reflectivity above the bass frequencies would be acceptable. The wife would not tolerate burlap.
The pair of speakers has a total of four chambers; i was thinking it might be a good idea to modify two, and leave two as they are. Right now, they seem to be absorbing mid-bass. Any suggestions gratefully accepted.
