Yourtrouble is a pretty common one, and has been discussed in the General Forum: itīs a matter of some DC in the mains, which saturates yur transformerīs core, and so makes it sing.LCAudio (www.lcaudio.com) makes a small board, which they name "Mains DC Filter", around USD 20, if Iīm not wrong, on that purpose, and itīs easy to install, either as an external attachment or, even better, placing it inside your amp, provided thereīs enough room. It can handle up to a 1,000 Watt transfo.
I have it installed, and my power amp is dead quiet now.
