All:How do I wire up my PD-65 with a new power cord? I have the cord, and plug. But the PD has a cheap two prong plug. How will that translate into three prongs. Or will it?
Thx!

Just wire in the hot and neutral and forget the safety ground. If your CDP has a two-prong plug, it has a double insulated chassis and you don't need to wire up the safety ground. Consider it a blessing. :)

...but he needs to make sure the polarity is preserved. Hot to hot, neutral to neutral - copy what was there before (narrow and wide prongs).
Hola Victor, I have two additional questions:1- "narrow and wide prongs", which one is supposed to be the neutral or hot? I assume this is a norm and not an exception.
2- Is there any advantage changing the AC plug for a better one, like a Hubbel, Pass Seysmour, Levitton or Marinco industrial/hospital grade? Even when using the stock cable.
Thanks for your help.
Jose.
Narrow one is hot (looking an the outlet, with ground on the bottom, hot is on the right side) and this is easily verified by using your volt meter. Set it for AC and put one probe in the ground and the other in each of the other two and you'll see which one has voltage.I've changed AC plugs on a couple units; it can't hurt...but in my experience, there isn't much to be gained when using the stock cord. Just changing the outlet in the wall however yielded audible results in my system. I replaced my junk-grade to Leviton Hospital grade (green dot) isolated ground (doesn't matter if it's isolated because I still connect it to the main ground wire). Removed grain from the sound yielded an overall smoothness. Actually, I was in denial when I heard it because I wasn't expecting ANY improvement, just a tighter fit. As always, YMMV.
