Depends on application. Mills or Yamamura if there's room. For that carbon comp sound w/o the drifting, Riken Ohm. Audio Note Tants I also like a lot, particulary in low-level circuit apps. Holco and Caddock, too, again depending on where they are going. And for the "vintage" sound, AB CC.
What would you prefer in the signal path of a pre?P.S. When are the new Atmasphere trannies coming soon I hope

I still have some late 60s big Riken carbons....although I do not have any new ones (from Angela) to compare with('cos I really don't know if these currently avail Rikens are NOS or latest prod.) but the old ones still exhibits a little bit of thermo drift and noise. Sound wise it is just as mellow as the ABs.If you are into vintage Japanese carbons avoid early productions of "River" carbons(195?). They tend to drft seriously and ages rather quickly over an extended period of time..
