I use 2 of that very similar type panel to hang in front of my flat screen when listening to music.( not movies :) ) They're light and "kinda" effective for this app. The panels mentioned by Jon L look to be a far more serious design. This not only for their size, but also their depth.
Follow Ups:
I've been lusting after the quadratic diffuser design but turned off by the high prices that other companies demand. At $160/pair for a 4' x 4' coverage area is an astounding bargain. I am going to go for it.

Aren't diffusers supposed to be on the back wall instead of front?
I've used diffusion on both back and front walls in combination with absorbing panels. Let your ear be the judge. If you do a search in regard to diffusion panels, you'll find many pics where diffusion panels are used on the front wall. The inexpensive panels you first considered are actually designed to be a combination of absorption/diffusion.
