And do you know what the "YA" signifies?
Is it an enthusiastic exclamation regarding a nice 'scope?

Follow Ups:
This link might help answer some of your questions. I have no experience with either of those models other than to say A TEK scope, even of that vintage is a worthwhile investment.
It sucks to get old. It really sucks to get old and bitter.
I bought it for a small price one at an online auction. It says 2336 on the front, but also 2336YA. They're probably two names for the same 'scope.
It's small by 80s standards, but aside from a 20% smaller screen, bears the same functionality and quality as the larger ones. 100MHz bandwidth, which is handy.
It works well, but the red "uncal" light is lit on the Volts/Div panel.
It's a nice match to my 2213a.

If you download the brochure in the link Unkle Mike sent, you'll see the difference listed under "Ordering Information". My guess is you have the "YA" upgrade.

...
I'm guessing that the 'YA' must designate 'Y Axis' plotted by the extra probes? otherwise that's used for 'yield analysis' in engineering / electronics nomenclature
with regards,
Y Axis makes sense as there is an extra voltage sweep shown for the YA model.
I've just been looking at scopes recently because I figure I need one. And then actually learn how to use it. Or get lucky and find one with 40 Telefunken Cca painted tip tubes in it!
Cheers!

'find one with 40 Telefunken Cca painted tip tubes in it!'
that would pay for itself!
with regards,
I have an HP scope (I forget the model) that has about a dozen Telefunken 6DJ8 tubes in it, plus various other Telefunken and Amperex tubes. They all test new, with exactly the same test results. The scope itself is huge, loud, and dinged up on the outside.
If the 6DJ8 was more useful for audio, they may not be in it any more.
Adam
huh ... well, Roger Modjeski seems to like them
they turn up in guitar rigs these days
but check the link, some interesting reading
regards,
I use a total of 11 6dj8's in my pre/power amp. Take a moment to look up what your NOS 6dj8 tubes sell for and you'll be pleasantly surprised (I think!)
Cheers!

they sure light up a lot of headphone amps as well
guitar gear too
regards,
For sure!
My son's loving the 6dj8 Bugle Boy I gave him to replace the 6bz7 in his Schiit Vali headphone amp.
Cheers!
