While seeking a plastic-safe cleaner for cable jackets, I came across a great bargain for an 11 oz spray can of CRC QD Electronic Cleaner contact cleaner for less than 5 bucks ($15.66 retail value).
I reckon it will rival CAIG DeoxIT when used for its intended application, and can't think of a better option when implemented as a non-residue leaving, plastic-safe cable jacket cleaner.
Might be a good time for casual audiophiles who find DeoxIT a bit pricey, and others who quickly go through a can of contact cleaner to take advantage of such a deal.

This is a good product at a good price!
Regarding Caig's DeOxit, I believe that this
cleaner has a fairly strong chemical deoxidizer
content, and is even better for removing oxides
from metal surfaces.
I have found that "painting" a metal surface with
DeOxit (using a small brush) and leaving it on the
surface in a very mildly "wet" state for 24 hours will
enhance the deoxidizing significantly. Then clean
the metal surface with acetone or similar.
I made this discovery doing experiments on brass AC plug
blades that were heavily tarnished.
Thanks for the heads-up Duster, just ordered some.
Which sounds better?

Please read the threads on Audiokarma on CRC QD electronic cleaner.
Good reputation reported on Audiokarma, from what I found. The lack of a lubricant should be noted, but a lubricant by nature is a residue, something I don't seek for the particular application.
I just looked this up on Amazon, my buying options came up with $109.99 shipping fee because iam located in the uk LOL.
I bought a can at Walmart for around $6.00
