Bob, look like it uses the older 9018 sabre dac set. Did you open it and take a look at the analog out stage if you are using that output?

I did look inside and took photos too. But, for me, it looked like work I would rather pay some one to do for me. It wasn't always like that, but I'm getting to old to do much anymore. I found a XDA-2 on E-Bay and will do what I did before and hope the sound is as good as it once was. Wish me luck, bobwire
That's a shame it didn't work out. You would think the dac would complement their very revealing transport.
The 4 layer boards aren't too friendly to work with either. Uf you were to do some mods.
Here's a link of the mod place I posted just recently. Parts, labor & shipping likely more than the dac was.
Over 50 parts replaced.
But it still might not give you the sound you are looking for.
