I was under the impression that you have not listened to these new CF faceplates yet. It was my impression that the Brainard faceplates were way better than plastic, not just marginally. I see no reason not to try pretty much anything that one is willing to spend the money on. Hope people love them.

I made it clear that I evaluated and use an oversized version, not the one that conforms exactly to a standard sized North American AC outlet wall plate.
You should read what folks say rather than claim things that are not true. Don't misrepresent my information, nor that of anyone else.
And you listened to this exact brass faceplate or do you assume all brass face plates sound the same?

how about the sound without a faceplate on the socket?
Older installs have metal cans to hold the socket in the wall, newer ones have plastic.
What about that diff?
Inquiring minds and all that, thx.

There's been discussions about that matter over the years. A search of the AA archives should provide some posts to read, Story.
I was just looking for a nice, concise explanation from you if you even had one.
It would have been nice to ADD it to the archives instead of consuming time looking for answers.

It sucks to get old. It really sucks to get old and bitter.
Yo Uncle Mikey, what's up?
