Since noon it's become possible to place a pre-order for these outlets (currently expected in mid-September) directly from Pangea Audio's website after first registering as a customer. The ordering process requires patience as it is 'https: secure' but still somewhat buggy. If you have a problem, Michele is very helpful at 866-984-0677. Pangea Audio doesn't charge until the order ships (Federal Express Ground being the least cost default).
I was surprised to learn that things sold to the public still have significant beryllium content. Haven't I read somewhere in audio land, and more than once, that beryllium was a great material for making cantilevers but that the use was mandated out of existence because of the toxicity of beryllium. If wall outlets can be made of beryllium, why not cantilevers? Meantime, connoisseurs of vintage phono cartridges often avidly pursue old cartridges, just because they bear a beryllium cantilever.
Presumably the plating of Beryllium as with AC duplexes sold by Pangea or Oyaide delivers the audio benefits without the health risks to audiophile consumers. I switched to the R-1 ($102 from Amazon) following Duster's recommendation out of impatience at waiting for Pangea's new duplexes to arrive. The R-1 is described by VH Audio as " totally non-magnetic in order to minimize potential disturbances from magnetic fields. Base Material of the Oyaide R1 - Highly (twice) polished Beryllium Copper base metal, plated with platinum, and then the R1 is finished with palladium plating"
By contrast to my previous outlet, the Oyaide R-1 grips the wire and prongs much more tightly and eliminates most power fragmentation. Now the music flows effortlessly, the note definition/tone is enhanced, and the pace/ rhythm/ timing goes from occasionally engaging to often being seductive with a new-found zest/ charisma.
Of course you'll put them on the transformer outside your house as well as the 100s of mies of transmission cable from the electric co?
Recommend getting the 55+ boosted flu shot soon before the predicted shortage depletes all pharmacy supplies and so avoid added insults to the immune system, greater exposure to Covid-19, and further degradation to that level of cognition.
Just post a concise report about the product in the forum, and pay no mind to those without direct experience of the AC outlet, Dry Ginger.
Beryllium copper has about the same electrical conductivity as brass.
