Got a new ifi supply.
Plugged it in and the light came on on the front panel but when turning on the product nothing happened. Turned it off the light was on.
Put back in the other psu and it works fine.
2 things come to mind.
1. The new psu is 1.2amps and the old one is 300ma. I thought it could be higher amps just not voltage. Maybe I messed that up.
2. The old one wasn't labeled in terms of the center pin orientation. Perhaps its center negative and the new one is center positive. There is an adaptor in the box but I haven't tried it yet...
Any other possibilities?

Follow Ups:
Point 1: If the voltage is correct, a 1.2A PSU should be fine as a replacement for a 300mA PSU.
Point 2: More than likely the polarity is reversed.
If you are comfortable doing this, use a multimeter on new and old power supplies. Check both the voltage and milliamps readings coming out of the power supply connector plug. You'll see the voltage polarity also.
Also compare the plug dimensions on each to make sure they are identical. Some plugs will fit loosely, ending up with poor connection.
Cheers!
