My phono stage has RCA plug-in input resistors and just because I could (I was actually looking for something else and came across a pair) I swapped them in. Maybe 15 years old. Measured a perfect 47.2k.
I thought the cartridge was broken!
Back to the AN Tants. I'm getting really good at soldering resistors into an RCA male and still get the barrel screwed on ;-}

I'm using some Texas Component TX2575 Z Foil resistors in the Pete Millett LR (no capacitors in the signal path) phono stage I built (but not as loading resistors), and didn't have any complaints about the sound quality.
In fact, when I posted a picture of my board, the guy who builds the Lounge Audio phono stage suggested I buy a couple more TX2575 to use as 47k loading resistors. He thinks highly of them.
I've tried Shinkoh tantalums as loading resistors in my tube phono stage, and quite honestly, I didn't note any improvement over the Holco's I had built it with. I'll have to give the Audio Note's a try.
Curious what make/model rca connector you use that the resistor fits into the barrel, B. Scarpia.
Cheers, Duster

Switchcraft Long Body 3502A. Certainly not for the IT's, though. They were left hanging in the breeze ;-}
Not something the $100 each crowd would consider but ever since I built the Enjoy The Music White Lightning and compared them to the 6 best-selling mid-priced ($1500-$2500) 1 meter cables of the day for an online Mag, the Switchcraft are all I use.
The key is to cut the hot side like a grid leak as close to the pin as possible, then bend and turn the other so you can solder it inside the ear as close to the center as possible without broiling the body. That leaves enough of the ear exposed so after you bend them in a bit you can still snip off the tip of the "lobe".
The things I do for my fans :)

When I read your original post, I was going to ask why you would put the resistors in the RCA, instead of in the phono stage circuit. I was imagining you were building them into an interconnect.
I'm guessing you're using the RCA's as plug-in loading?
