I am not suggesting that there is a problem with the height at all. I would expect your new brush to work very well. This is purely a visual thing for me, I don't want to see my gear up in the air on footers of any kind. I much prefer to make the footer as close to invisible as possible, nothing more than that. The PE nail brush are exceptional for this especially if the base is trimmed off and a thin compliant sponge pad is uses under the PE fingers this lowers the component further and adds a bit more vertical compliance to that brush. A very low profile solution. For heavier components I have included a fiberous pad under the PE fingers (inside of the PE wall material) to shore up both the PE wall of the brush as well as to dissipate more energy as the PE fingers flex.

ah ok.
The brushes in my other post, out of the 3 types, the black one is short. I am using that in conjunction with rollerballs on my headphone amp and my reclocker.
UGH I just order 6 more brushes of different kind!

well that settles it this damping footer/roller replacement business is definitely much more contagious than covid-19! You still have some of the PE fingernail brushes? If so get some 3-M maroon color automotive abrasive pads and use them inside of the bottom of the brush cup and if need be layer them so that the pad protrudes just past the bottom edge of the cup by about 1/16". This will provide greater support for heavier load components and will help damp both the fingers and the cup and also provide additional vertical compliance as well. Let me know what you think.
