How do you remove the rear panel?
The manual says to remove the 4 small screws,
but it still won't budge. Are there other screws
to remove, or is it just a tight fit?
Thanks.

Here's the Box link to the Proton 300 service manual. Thanks.

Based on the one diagram and not seeing the unit on person I'd try going in from the front.

Ok, do you think the woofer can be removed by removing the 4 screws
holding it to the front? Are there nuts on the back side of the
woofer screws? Thanks.
Yes I think it comes out the front too. I doubt there are nuts on the backside. It also looks like you remove the square panel on which the speaker is mounted.

If you're still having trouble, it seems to me that you might have to remove the tuner section first. Then you have access to the rest of the panels.
Ok, I'll give it a shot. Thanks very much for the advice.

I placed a copy of the service manual in my Box account.
Can you send me your email address, and I'll send you a public link?
Or I can email the file directly to any email address. Thanks.
