Do you have a receiver tank on the system? If so you need to increase the size of it. This acts as a snubber on the air system. Also a larger tank will extend the life of the pump motor.

Yes. I do. It is a 10 gallons tank. However, the thump is caused by the air pressure switch.
coming back through the AC mains or a thump that is vibration coming back through the air bearing manifold that the cartridge or arm tube is picking up and coming through the system?
