Hi guys,
On a limited budget I've been trying to set up a bluetooth speaker system. Hoping to produce something with better performance than a more expensive portable bluetooth speaker. I have found a pair of old speakers (in very good condition) I would like to use but I am having trouble finding information on them. Here is what I have so far:
KLH Classic One Speakers
Model CL-1
16 omhs (?)
Does anyone know any more information on these speakers? What kind of amplifier will I need to power these speakers? Do you have any suggestions on setting up a bluetooth speaker system?
I really appreciate the help and I hope these questions are not too elementary. I am by no means an audiophile but I love music and would appreciate to hear a better product than my computer can produce.
Follow Ups:
An older 2-way system, 2 issues to look at. If the woofers have
cloth surrounds, they may need re-sealing. If foam, they may
need new foams. #2 is they typically used electrolytic capacitor/s
in the crossover. Those would be trash at this point. Replace
those with same mf rating, non-polar. Use 100V or higher (most are). Then you need a blutooth receiver with line outputs to plug
into a main amp. There may be amps out there with blutooth capability,
haven't looked. 16 ohms is amp friendly, not an issue. 20-50W is
about right. The KLH's won't handle much more than 50W.
