The new Maverick Audio D2 Dac has some important improvements over the D1.
BNC input
Tenor USB
R-Core transformer
AD1955 Dac chip
I think this base model is a step above the D1 in every regard. So I decided to modify one and give it away as a B-Day Present. Here is the plan.
In addition to the listed upgrades I plan to dampen the chassis, install a shield between to board and transformer and replace the fuse.

Would love to know what you think of the sound once you have it all done and broken it in a bit....

Did you do any modds to yours?
I had the D1 for awhile, I suspect that the stock D2 should sound pretty good. However listening is the final judge so we shall see....
I'll post some thoughts about the Dac in its stock form and during/after the modifications.

Why opamps and a tube?
Basically I was just looking for an inexpensive Dac that could be modded. This Dac seems very easy to mod, lots of parts to upgrade.
