I know I'm cheating by not trying out all the stuff available out the... but really who has the time??? I ask who has the money.. but in this hobby there are plenty of 'philes that fit that bill!!
Thanks for your time and consideration

I see that you are using Herbie's and I have not tried his products--yet.
I know it's crazy, but I am using a carborundum blade 12" that costs about 8 bucks from Lowes as a turntable mat. I wrapped it at clock number points with teflon tape to protect the vinyl from the abrasive surface. It's the best DIY i've tried yet.
Tube rolling has to be pretty big, I really enjoy the new TungSols and now have them all (EL34, Ax7, AU7) and prefer their midrange punch.
Another oddball tweak, finding Barry Controls vibration isolators (used for military)on Ebay and finding the right weight rating and putting them under my speakers (3 ea. side) and tube amp and cd player but not the turntable. This tweak especially on the speakers, really surprised me how much the imaging and bass tightend up. Highly recommended.
Am using crystals, but now without removing them I can't comment except to say I WAS hearing more detail and bloom.
Audiofile fuses (I got some from ebay as well) seem to further clarify the soundstage and timber.
Have fun!
They should keep me busy for some time to come :~)

It seems that the motor of analog turntables have a "memory" problem.
Every time the motor is stopped (to change sides or to change LP altogether), the power supply to the motor must be disconnected first, then connected on again. The sonic differences, as a result of "refreshing" the motor is very dramatic.
This problem occurs regardless of whether the turntable motor is fed direct from the wall, or fed from a speed controller device.
In fact I first discovered it while fiddling with a speed controller device.
I discovered that LP playback sound becomes forward, muddied, bass bloated (some people might like this actually) when the speed control unit was changed from 33rpm to 45rpm, then back to 33rpm again. On a hunch, I disconnected the power supply to the speed controller unit and found that the "refreshed" scu makes the turntable/LP sounds more opened, more detailed, more dynamic, more musical all at the same time. I, and a few other listeners repeated the test with several other different LPs and turntable models, and found the sonic results repeatable and consistently audible, without straining to hear it. Later I discovered the same thing at home with my gyro se, which works without a scu, and in other people's systems, with several other turntables, also without scu.
Luckily my gyro se turntable motor is driven by a separate ac line from the wall (within easy reach of my left hand) away from the dedicated ac line feeding the pre and phonostage, which is behind the equipment. every time I stop the turntable, for whatever reasons, I just need to refresh the ac feeding the motor to consistently get the level of dynamics and clarity that i didnt know this turntable is capable of. It is like I got a $3000 upgrade to my gyro se!
Effects - in resolving system, to healthy ears - are readily audible.
Where exactly are you sourcing these from currently ?
I had readily apparent improvements when I employed them in my breaker box a few years ago...
... for instance "yellow calcite rough", "green quartz rough" etc.
There are about 5 sellers, who have consistently reasonable prices on both rocks and shipping. After finding one kind of crystals you're interested in, look for other items for sale by the same seller - good chance you'll find something else (they will also combine shipping in most cases).
Thanks man.... I'll check 'em out !
I can not believe how much crystals have improved the AC. It's like I went out and purchased a 5k power conditioner. Amazing results indeed.
Buy the very best source material you can find, nothing else even comes close. It is really that simple...

You have carpeting? Lift your speaker cables off the floor. Easy and cheap enough to try. Empty toilet paper rolls standing on end(NOT laying down)will work, or pieces of cardboard about that size. It costs nothing to try, but about 2 minutes of your time.
If you hear (and like) a difference, then you can decide on something a little more effective and aesthetically pleasing if you wish.

Yeah I have an iPod, iPhone, ipad, and some ER4-Ps, plus an Audioengine D1 DAC/ Headphone amp. Sure, the Etys are nice, but ya cant really watch a movie or listen to music in the background with a pair of earbuds, can ya?
