My diy mains use the RT1C, but I have all the HiVi Research catalog pages. They recommend a second order at 1800 hertz or higher. I have not heard the RT2, but I am VERY happy with my RT1C's. I have them in an mtm arrangement with two of HiVi's F6 mids in each cabinet. I am using Marchand active crossovers so I can't give you any first hand help on passive x-overs.
