The roomlens needs to be a freestanding unit for it to be effective as a diffractor/diffuser. Embedding it in an absorbent panel would totally negate its effectiveness in this area. I think it would also reduce its effectiveness as ana absorber, and reduce the panel's absorrption effectiveness also.I don't know about the impacts of using panels and roomlenses together but if you're going to have both, I would place the roomlenses as per normal instructions (there's really no choice about that if they're going to have the effects they're designed to achieve) and experiment with panel placement behind the seating position (where there normally isn't a roomlens) as a starting option. You can also try other normal placements for the panels - just treat each device normally and see what happens, accepting that you may ultimately choose to go with either the panels or the roomlenses on their own.

Thanks Dave - so far, I've taken a "listen and see" approach to the room treatments. I won't bother experimenting with a combination room lens/absorber - I'm obviously way off base with that thought. Thanks for your input.
