Yeah, I'd like to know about the bases too
because I just taped L-shaped metal brackets onto the pipes.
Imaging and soundstage has improved a lot,
But I've yet to fill in the polyester, so I still get resonance for those very low frequencies.I wish I'm that good with handiwork.
If the cement or concrete works, care to teach me how to do it?
Or maybe you would send me one all the way to Singapore? :)
Thanks for the input Jon. My friend and I are going to try this soon. The felt sounds like a good idea. We will be looking into the best type of cement to use for the bases, as the cut stone will likly be expensive and hard to get. One more question, on the spacing of the pipes. How far apart are the closer of the pipes? From what I read 2/3" of an inch for the close pair. Then 1" to the third pipe. Is this right?(at bottom) The tops are pulled slightly apart so the three tubes are not stright up and down. Is this correct? Last, I heard somthing about a new lense with 5 pipes. Any idea if this could be worth the effort? Thanks for your help.

EXCERPT:
" Use 2 1/2" heavy duty/high pressure PVC pipes, cut to 58 " lengths, spaced apart 1" at the top tapering to 7/8" at the bottom for the left pair of tubes, and spaced apart about 3/4" at the top tapering down to a little over 5/8" at the bottom for the right pair of tubes. "Jon Risch
