Ok. Let's check my facts.
In http://www.audioasylum.com/audio/tweaks/messages/14278.html didn't you say:
It appears my simple little idea needs to be explained.
Now, I may be wrong here, but usually when someone has an idea and based upon that idea produces an aparatus of some sort which puts that idea into execution, the person whose idea it was is considered the inventor and the aparatus is considered their invention .
So was it your idea to loop a foot of 16 gauge zip cord through an AQ RF Stopper ferrite core, attach one end to an AC plug, leaving the other end unterminated and subsequently plugging the thing into an AC receptacle? Or was it not your idea? If it was your idea, then you are the inventor and the aparatus is your invention. And when you claim the aparatus to be your idea, you are effectively claiming to have invented it.
Second of all I didn't even post this tread here. Someone e-mailed me and said Alan oh by the way have you been to audio asylum.
I don't recall ever saying that you did post this thread here.
Now since I have been here all you have done is laughed off anything that I or anyone else with the exception of yourself had to say on the matter.
What I did was address what I believe to be some rather gross errors in the claims you have made both here and on AVS as to how your tweak is functioning. And I'm hardly alone on that matter as a number of others have also pointed them out.
I made an honest attempt to get a dialogue going between you and I in hopes that it might uncover the truth, regardless of which side it happened to fall. And to that end I simply asked you some questions at which point you opted to end the discussion.
As I have said previously, I'm fully prepared to be wrong, equally prepared to own up to being wrong and the first to kick myself in the ass for being so obtuse.
Now I find your behavior childish, I find your remarks insulting, and the fact you hide behind your computer to them I find you to be a coward.
And you're entitled to your opinion. Though I don't quite get the part about hiding behind my computer. As opposed to what? Meeting you out in the parking lot for a good old fashioned fist fight? I don't get it. How exactly am I hiding? Everything I post here is out in the public to be openly challenged.
Or is it you'd prefer something more personal? If that's the case, feel free to telephone me anytime you like. Number's 916 457-8275. Don't want to pay the toll charges? EMail me your number and I'll telephone you on my dime.

Steve;I can't even visualize a more childish response than yours! I feel like saying shame, shame!! Okay, I'll say it. "Shame, shame, Steve."
Whatever credentials you may have suffer by your rhetoric.
Inventor is one who patents idea. I never said I was the inventor. "My idea" as you want to point out is just that... "Here is an idea, maybe it will work for you". I on the other hand said I have seen this before and gave examples of where I saw it. You took it upon yourself to assume. Now you are correct is my educational background. But in the entire time I have posted anywhere on the web I have never insinuated that I had a degree in EE or that I had any working knowledge of the subject. I am a audio/video production tech. My Associate is in Communication-Broadcasting and my Bachelors is in Economics. Now if you would like to continue this conversation you will be doing it on your own. I am sick of the childish behavior. I'm shocked Jon allowed this to go on as long as he did. There is a difference of attacking and debeating ideas vs. personal attacks of an insulting nature.

HUH!?!? Where on earth did you come up with THAT notion? You mean an inventor is only an inventor when they patent something? What exactly do you call someone who invents something but doesn't patent it? Oh, wait, they can't have invented it because they haven't patented it. *scratching head* Time to consult Webster.
in-vent \in-'vent\ vt [ME inventen , fr. L inventus, pp. of invenire to come upon, find, fr. in- + venire to come — more at COME] (15c) 1 archaic : FIND, DISCOVER 2 : to think up or imagine : FABRICATE 3 : to produce (as something useful) for the first time through the use of the imagination or of ingenious thinking and experiment — in-ven-tor \-'vent-er\ n — in-ven-tress \-'ven-tres\ n
Don't see any qualification of a patent in there.
"My idea" as you want to point out is just that... "Here is an idea, maybe it will work for you". I on the other hand said I have seen this before and gave examples of where I saw it. You took it upon yourself to assume.
You took it upon yourself to call it "my idea." You didn't call it "an idea" or "someone else's idea" but "my idea." Perhaps we should consult Bill Clinton for the definition of "my."
Now you are correct is my educational background. But in the entire time I have posted anywhere on the web I have never insinuated that I had a degree in EE or that I had any working knowledge of the subject. I am a audio/video production tech. I don't recall having said anything about your educational background. Some of the most brilliant people in this industry don't hold any formal degrees so I don't use "educational background" as any sort of a yardstick necessarily.
All I (and some others) have said was that the explanations you have offered (both here and on AVS) indicate that you don't have much understanding of basic physics and electronics since the explanations you gave tended to defy some rather fundamental and well-established physical laws and generally just didn't make any sense.
I'm sorry, but if you make erroneous statements in a public forum, expect to be called on them. Nobody likes tripping over their own dick in public, but it happens. I had a nice little Kodak Moment of my own just a few weeks ago. Here, want something to laugh at? Check this out:

I'm still picking the gravel out of my knees after that one.
Now if you would like to continue this conversation you will be doing it on your own. I am sick of the childish behavior. I'm shocked Jon allowed this to go on as long as he did. There is a difference of attacking and debeating ideas vs. personal attacks of an insulting nature.
You mean like this one?:
You now SE if you think about what you talking about first it would be a better world.

Don't worry, APM. He doesn't think much of me, either! ;-)
John I'm convinced he's just a jack-ass.Thanks for the support:-)

I'm convinced he's just a jack-ass. > >He *is* quite a piece of work isn't he? Eddy is just another punk who believes himself to be an Internet badass, laughable if he wasn't so damn pathetic. I see from his web page that he's out here in my neck of the woods, that's both interesting, and somewhat embarrassing.
Hope that boy hasn't soured you toward the Asylum APM, his type are the exception around here.
John
> Eddy is just another punk who believes himself to be an Internet badass, laughable if he wasn't so damn pathetic. <John, I am really disappointed. I have always looked forward to your posts on all the lanes. In my mind, you have been such a witty and fun guy. Now this.
Having followed this thread from the beginning, I count Steve Eddy's posts as an oasis of sanity in a thread of gobbledy-gook. Sure he has lapsed once or twice out of pure frustration. That's why I chose not to further challenge APM theories here. Probably, others would be posting on this matter if it wasn't for the "Mtry" stigma that arises when you counter vagaries with fundamental electronics in a "Tweak" group. It's just plain frustrating when you give folks accepted theory, directly from the "big books" and they tell you you're full of it.
I don't recall Steve saying "No, it won't work". We've been around long enough to know that there are unexplainable goings-on in this business. What I have been saying is that APM could be on to something and we don't know what or why. What I think Steve is saying is that APM is spouting theory after theory (seemingly)in desparation to validate "his" (or was it "somebody elses") tweak with no logical basis. He appears, to me, obsessed with making it work. This tinkering really should be done off line in a scientific manner and perfected before bringing it to the community at large.
Furthermore, I gathered that Steve was looking out for the health and safety of electronics neophytes who are hell-bent to gain any rewards from the tweak. If APM issued any prominent safety warnings, I missed them. They should have been BIG AND BOLD. This is serious stuff !!!
John....... do you care to enlighten us on just how Steve has presented himself as a "punk", "pathetic", deluded ? I read your last message twice. Tell me it isn't so. Tell me that Jasmine had you in a double extended Guamanian toe lock with your bippy tangled in the "lay-back" handle of the E-lift and the (excrutiatingly wonderful) pain made you say that. If one dosen't understand electronics, can one really judge the validity of Steve's arguments ? They seemed very sound and appropriate to me. (my credentials available on request ;~)
APM........ I offer my encouragement to you (again) in researching, tweaking, refining, ..... hell, marketing if you desire, that tweak.
I'd just offer a word of caution about theorizing out loud. You will subject yourself to scruitiny from above and below. Your self esteem will be hauled over the coals. 'Happens to most great inventors, I'm sure. Just don't be too quick to publish.... and CYA with some strongly worded warnings of the lethality potential.The whole thread would maybe have gone smoother with;
(a) anecdotal description of benefits
(b) verbal description and schematic or wiring diagram
(c) strong cautionary notes
(d) statement: "I don't know why it works but it does for my situation and YMMV
(e) request for any explanations of how it works. (Yeah! let THEM take the heat ;~)The instant you open your cake-hole on "HOW" it works....... unless you can prove it.................. DUCK AND COVER ;~}
regards to all,
john
I couldn't have said it better. Unfortunately, the intensity of the exchanges regarding this tweak has, sadly, driven APM into retirement. He announced his "resignation" over at avsforum.
I cannot help but feel that in the interest of winning, we have all lost something. Sigh.

He didn't resign. He was back bright and early this morning posting "APM's Amazing Finds." I think he just wanted to hear people begging him not to leave. From what I gathered reading the thread and from the title ("My final resignation") he's apparently done this before.
So fear not. All is still right with the world.

Steve you couldn't scare me away, but I am taking a long and well deserved break from the audio tweak enviroment. But I'll make sure when I return next month that you'll be the first to know:-)In all seriousness I was dub the tweak guru by the moderator over at avs which was a title I didn't want. But anyway I had to deal with all of these e-mails coming asking every question you could think of on how to's. After about 3 months of dealing with 25 to 35 e-mails daily from just this site I decided to take a break. Problem you run into is nobody respects your privacy and the e-mails never stop. So I go back on for another 3 months and I take another break. Again the e-mails are coming in begging for my return. So this time I put together inexpensive ideas in my Cheap Tweak 101 tread with the hope they understood I was drained.
Now I was going on vacation anyway because were MACing over to Japan to see some old friends next week for a couple weeks. The hope with this latest post is that they'll wait till I return before they start the e-mails.
Its not that you mind helping people, but when you start designing Home Theater rooms and layouts for free it begins to be too much. To give you an example I have completely designed 8 Home Theaters in the past 6 months. Two of them were jobs I was paid for by local clients, the other 6 come from this forum. And that was another reason why I posted this tread. People need to understand I don't like to work for free just because there a forum member. I don't mind giving advice but when they want drawings or designs for other projects that is another story. Even today I received another e-mail asking for me to give so called advice on how to place speakers. After several e-mails back and forth they asked for me to draw it up because they don't understand. Want to know what they offered me for payment? Next time I was in there town why don't I stop over (nice way to say work for free) and they'll make Jen (my wife) and I dinner why we casual talk audio. Want to know what happens when I told them what the drawings cost? Never got another reply back, what a surprise. But at this point they already have the room layout for free from the other e-mails.
What gets you is no matter how many times I ask not to be dubbed this title I'm mentioned again by the moderator for something else. So please don't think you had anything to do with my vacation. Your verbage needs to be toned down a bit and I admit you got under my skin just a little bit but don't worry the three weeks off should give me enough time to make a list of all the nasty words and insults that I would like to say to you upon my return:-)
Till then take care...
APM
