Hi guys -- I was thinking to get an SPL meter, but since I live in Japan, running down to the local Radio Shack is out of the question. I happened to run across the website of a manufacturer called Goldline. They make an SPL meter that costs a couple of hundred bucks. Is this unit a good choice? Any other recommendations? Thanks in advance for any help. Good listening -- Dave
You can get a SPL meter from NIPPON AUDIO in Japan,
G'Day,I wouldn't want to mention any particular manufacturer. Just scan on the web for Type 2 Sound Meters, as this is the most accurate you will likely get for reasonable money.
A Type 1 meter is seldom seen outside a lab, and costs several thousand dollars, usually.
