Literally.I used some on experimental outboard crossover substrates, and I had to let it dry in the sun for a few days to get rid of the asphalt smell. You don't want it in your house until it is thoroughly dry.

Ugh - you ain't lying... But once it dries out, does it do okay for damping?

It might work fine for thin metal or plastic, but you would need a lot of layers to damp something stiff or heavy. Considering the drying time between applications, you might as well get some sheet goods from an auto sound shop or order from Michael Percy.
