I just dug up my old Magnepan SMGs. They had been in the closet for the past 8 years because they sounded really poor. Anyway I decided to take them apart yesterday and noticed that the tweeter wire is heavily corroded and broken in several places.I would like to repair these speakers but am not sure quite how to do it.
I think they used aluminum wire for the treeter. It it feasible for a DIYer to rebond a similar wire to the film? If so, does anyone know of a source for the wire? What is the best way to "glue" the wire back onto the film?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For a whopping $20 (I think mine came to $15 including shipping) they
send you about a million feet of the proper wire, a large can of contact cement, and 2 good sized plastic jars of the proper coating/adhesive. Also comes with very explicit instructions with diagrams. Oops, forgot to mention the solder, flux paste, and new terminal board they include. When you are done, there will be PLENTY of everything left over, so keep an eye out here for someone who needs it and let them have the rest (at least that's what I did with my leftovers).
