maybe paralleling a couple of 5uf plastic caps? Any thoughts on brands/composition there? They would have to be small. The back-to-back electrolytic thing may not fit upon closer inspection.
Thanks,

Follow Ups:
Solen caps are good and cheap, but would be more than the Rubys et al. I've had great success with Elna Cerafine, though you'd have to back-to-back them as I don't think they come in bi-polar casings.I've heard a lot of good things about the Rubys too - if you go that way, please post your results.

Will do, Kamigo. Rubycon makes an even lower esr cap(at 100k anyway, does this even matter?)called the ZLG that I will use in the power supply. Unfortunately Solens are way too big. The Rubycons are actually quite small, they will probably fit with some finagling but I'm just tired of everything I work on looking like shit, honestly. It's always some audiodweeb concern that keeps me from just installing the prudent replacement and being on my way. Of course, if I had more money than time I would just buy better gear. Sigh...the audio asylum IS aptly named, isn't it?
