I just auditioned my brother's Orpheus Crossbow in my home systems. It's far & away the best mat I've tried to date, bar none, including my tweaked mat. I may buy one when my teaked one gives up the ghost. Although, I'm hoping for more internal damping like mine has to reestablish a black background. The ones he bought didn't have the green stripes shown. If I can find that one, I'll probably like it even more considering the Marigo green material (dots & driver bands) exhibits plenty of vicsous damping. However, that may be deceptive since the black mat isn't like the black dots. For one thing, the gross density is exceedingly lighter. And, for another it feels more porious & rigid. Altogether it's worth a try. I find this hard to say since it's a comparatively pricy mat to its competitors, but if you consider the cables you use to keep the clarity this initiates, this choice becomes clear. At least that's what I keep telling myself.
Product Weakness: | black not as black as most mats, but hoping the green stripes will cure that. |
Product Strengths: | much improved image clarity via full frequency response which in turn renders more natural dynamic transients as well. |

I found that the crossbow did absolutely nothing in my system. I am all too aware that tweaks are system dependent but after many hours of listening I foudn that there was no difference. This might be because I have a DTI 2.0 following my transport. If anyone wants to try mine out Im willing to ship it to you for a trial in your system since Im not using it. Offers for trade?
(as well as my home PC but that's another story)FWIW, I bought some Marigo dots just for that precise purpose of damping the digital crystal clock (I didn't want to deal with a possibility of a leaking zip-lock baggy of semi-conductable sand).

Would I need this for my player? I have a Pioneer ElitE PD-65 that has the stable platter mechanism. I am not sure if the mat would help my system. . .Thx!

If I remember correctly, the Pioneer plays upside down which pretty much precludes a mat entirely.
