Welllllllll, not exactly. Your power supply is of paramount importance because you are LISTENING to YOUR POWER SUPPLY. All that exotic circuitry does is MODULATE your power supply. Feeding it poor quality grungy A.C. is like using cheap gas & oil in your car; and like eating junk food & lots of rotgut booze.

Das ist nicht richtig, mein freund ! I live in a retirement community of about 40K souls in S. Az. There is no industry whatsoever anywhere near here, so you would expect almost totally pristine AC delivered to my humble abode. Re-read the first sentence : "THAT IS NOT TRUE, MY FRIEND !" If you do some research on the subject you will find that all of your household appliances (anything with a motor), dimmers, etc.generate huge amounts of EMI/RFI and other garbage, to say nothing of what goes on at your neighbors. Also, 'events' more than a thousand miles away can cause serious perturbations on your AC service. I use a 15A and a 6A Iso tfmr. on my equipment. When I recently added a high grade outlet I noticed a significant increase in fine detail that wasn't there before due to the gunk riding on my AC mains. However, we are all entitled to our sophomoric delusions.
Dirty enough AC to affect a well designed Power Supply audibly is probably more of an exception then a standard. If the Power in your area is that bad, then maybe a line conditioner would be in order.

I have found that my Bryston amp's built-in PLC is not sufficent as sole defense. Bryston indicates that an auxiliary PLC is not needed. I could not care *less* about Bryston's opinion, less your's.
Maybe you misunderstood, I am only saying that you either have enough power or you don’t, a dedicated line can certainly be cleaner then a shared line, but outboard filtering can do more then enough to stay within the tolerances of a good power supply. Not postulating either, just my opinion based on my direct experience with just about every thing in the power chain. Why so twitchy and defensive?
