There is no "problem" that needs solving when using the Oyaide face plate since it is non magnetic to begin with.
ALL stainless steels, with the exception of the austenitic group, are strongly attracted to a magnet.

If you look at the dates on the responses, you will see that Duster initiated the issue of using non magnetic stainless steel wall plate placebo on 11-21-05.
The original poster simply wanted to know if the Oyaide wall plate would work equally well with his Shunyata product. I responded only that I believed it would and that was really all I injected into the matter.
The advice given by Mr. Dust was a to use a cheaper alternative by substituting he Oyaide wall plate with a cheap $5.00 non magnetic stainless steel plate. The problem lies in the fact that almost ALL stainless wall plates that you buy at the hardware store are going to magnetic, and using a non magnetic screw in the wall plate will not alter the relationship of the electrical field with the ferrous wall plate. You may want to do some research on the interaction between a electrical field and a ferrous material.
Knowing the high probability that neither you nor Duster grasp the full advantages of the Oyaide wall plate has me a bit concerned since both of you feel yourselves the "experts" in this field.Hope this helps you understand.

. The problem with that advice is that almost I would highly recommend that you understand that most ALL stainless steel wall plates are going to be magnetic much to the

Hmmm....what's my time stamp and date code now?Placebo? Cheap? Experts? Duster....you wanna comment on his comments regarding your comments?
Image: FIM Non-magnetic Stainless Steel Duplex Outlet Wall Plate.I'm no expert, and have never claimed to be such. I'm just a passionate audiophile.
However, it seems that Mike as "expert poser" is at work, here. His slag is unfounded (and hostile, as usual). I do my research, and he should do the same before blowing-off other inmate's sincere information!
Cooper Non-Magnetic Stainless Steel Wall Plate:
"...1 gang duplex receptacle plate is made of type 304 stainless steel alloy to be non-magnetic and corrosion resistant. Matching (screw is) provided..."
(see link below)
Note: Furutech and FIM (among others) also offer non-magnetic stainless steel wall plates. So, a non-magnetic stainless steel wall plate is a precedence-based audiophile device. Mike, you *need to do research* before you attack other folk's AA reputation (BTW... I'm not "Mr. Dust", just Duster, thanks).
P.S. The fact that an Oyaide wall plate is great and would likely better a basic non-magnetic stainless steel wall plate is not the issue, at all. A "better than typical plastic wall plate" is the issue, not to mention it's a cheap tweak which many folks often seek in this forum.

Thanks for that information Duster. Yes that would be better than a plastic wall plate I suppose. Although I doubt that anyone has done any serious comparisons between a plastic wall plate and a SS plate from hardware store.com.
I think the original post was how well the Oyaid wall plate would work with other PC's.
However you and the used car salesman have attacked my comments as is typical.
Research? I have forgotten more than you will ever know.
So have you done any comparisons between an plastic wall plate and the Oyaide with an Oyaide outlet?
Has your buddy?

I did a "serious" comparison of a Lowe's hardware sourced Cooper non-magnetic stainless steel wall plate vs. a typical plastic wall plate as used in my three audio systems. All systems showed a marked benefit.Even though I use an Oyaide SWO-XXX in my main system, I do not intend to buy a Oyaide wall plate and why the hell would I even compare it to a plastc wall plate? The benefit would be a no-brainer, I'm sure. Don't be obtuse.
BTW, you have serious social problems, dude. You may think you know better than I and others do, but you seem to *not* based on your attitude and statements... get a grip.
