By my question about the extra cap, I assumed you meant you were bypassing the high pass cap with one of a small value, such as .1mF.

I wondered about your results because in my Magnepan experiments, I preferred not to use a bypass, even a Teflon one. It seemed to add a separate crossover frequency at the bypass value's frequency with a new point of phase shift and discontinuity. Even though the bypass initially seemed to add extra detail and resolution, it soon became tiring and intrusive.
