Reading the cheap tweak posts at the weekend reminded me I hadn't swapped the switched outlets on the system rings to unswitched.
I just did it this morning and thought I would remind everyone how worthwhile this is if you haven'y done it
As you might expect by simplifying the mains path there is an immediate improvement in dynamics perhaps by lowered noise floor, more air around the treble.
Mmmmm very cost effective indeed.
If you are not confident doing it, get an electrician, it will only take a couple of minutes per outlet.

Follow Ups:
For inmates with USA electrical systems: dave c lives in Australia, where many of the power outlets come standard with on/off switches built in to the outlet devices. Some inmates in the USA may have switched outlets where the switches are on the wall next to the light switch, but most of the convenience outlets are unswitched and very few have integral switches.I agree that removing any connections in series with the outlets is a good thing to do, regardless of which electrical system one has.

Re-reading some posts, that makes a lot of sense. I had no idea that thatwas a standard practice in the States.
In the past I have hard wired power conditioners into the ring mains which has a good effect, is actually pretty safe... and almost certainly breaches building codes and your house insurance!
Not a great combination!

Agreed on this one, in my case anyway. I had a wall switch that turned on/off the power in the outlet a few feet away. Either or both of removing the switch from the cct and cleaning the wire ends before connecting them together certainly cleaned things up. This was done to stop the kids from switching off the system from the wall switch, but I certainly cannot complain about the effect on the sound.....

Take out the switched wall outlets and replace them with unswitched outlets.
Simple as that.
The difference is very worthwhile.

Go for a corded outlet (unswitched of course)...
You will not believe the difference. Very significant to my ears...
What is a corded outlet?
Is it a hard wired one?
I used an old cooker spur (60 amp) and hard wired outlet in Britain and it was very good.
