Hello All -I've got a preamp with a 3/16" drilled through a 3/8" faceplate, which is in front of steel chassis. I'm wanting an IR sensor that can fit thru the hole so that it sticks out the front of the faceplate, and can be reached by the remote control from a wide angle range. Problem is, most IR sensors are mounted onto a little "block" that won't go thru the hole.
Does anyone know of a sensor that can be slipped into a 3/16" hole and advanced up to the front of the faceplate? I would be VERY appreicaitive for any leads!
Follow Ups:
Radio Shack catalog #276-142 IR Emmiter and Detector pair. They are the standard T-5 (5mm) LED package.
They might have just the detector too but I have the pair sitting here in front of me and I am too lazy to look it up.

Thanks Tweekeng -I think it will fit. One possible issue. The detector I am using has 3 leads, this one has two. Any thoughts on why that is, and what the extra lead is used for?
Possibly the Base lead was brought out so it could be biased it needed or if the origonal has a metal case it could be connected to the case for grounding.
Wish this board was upgraded to a system the has a spell checker and an edit post function!
