1N5819's are only rated to 40VDC, 4001's are 50 volt diodes. You certainly want to measure the DC rails on your equipment and make sure thye are within the rated value of these diodes or you could be flirting with disaster. Diodes tend to fail short and you do not want to see what happens when AC is dumped on to your DC buss.BTW. dont forget the PEAK voltage when you measure this with your standard meter that reads average or RMS voltages...

I'd use 11DQ10's for 1n4001-3
I know about the 11DQ10'S, I just can't get them anywhere locally, only the ones I mentioned, so if you (or anybody) have any experience with the 1N5819 I'd be grateful to know.

Dear zanash.Thank you for your kind offer, I pulled some strings and managed to get some samples.
The 1N5819 isn't a good idea, given the high frequency and low voltage it's prone to change specs for the worse when heated, less tolerant to V peaks.
