Hi everyone.
I recieved this e-mail, and I would suggest you have a close look at this. It is VERY disturbing:
To those of you who use Geocities Yahoo as your homepage providers.Apparently they now have it written in their terms of service when you
have a page listed on their FREE ahem pages that you MUST sign over all
copyright of images and other media you create on their sites. Basically
to make a long story short if you have images or such on your sites if
you host them on YAHOO Geocities you are giving up ALL copyright to your
item Basically this is why ALOT of people are abandoning their sites at
Yahoo Geocities and going elsewhere. So please forward this email to all
people who you think have a site on Yahoo Geocities because this just
came into effect recently but it still goes for people who have been on
Geo before this.
Thanks
I currently have a E.T. Foreplay preamp construction page on Geocities and I'm considering moving into Doc. Bottlehead's own site.As I'm totally amateur into this html stuff I would like to know how/what to do to move my stuff out: Do I download it back into my HD at home (I'm using a modem) or did you use other ways to do so.
Please drop me a line.
Sincerely,
Quest

Hey ppl,Probably the best way to get your things off Geocities, is to download them (or make sure you have a copy of it on your hard drive, and then delete it off their servers completely. You can delete it off the server in the same way you uploaded it there.
Then go to:
Free web spaceand find somewhere else to host your web-site
I'll try to move back my stuff this weekend. If I need help I'll post again asking for you or DeonC.Back to my hard drive I go ;^>
Thanks to you both.

Hi Quest
I'm lucky in that I have not yet started my homepage there, but I sympathize with you. I am unfortunately still a little green at this, but I did ask a good friend of mine, Ian, to give advice on this. If you have more questions, please post them, as, since I work for an Internet Service provider, there are many people that will be able to help. I am just on the Call Center customer service side, and am still learning too :-) Good luck.
