Does anyone have an opinion on these binding posts? Currently using Cardas CCBP - short billet copper posts on my amps and speakers.I am just starting to see some amp manufacturers (Nuforce & Redwine) using the Cardas patened posts. The design looks interesting.

Ordered from Dan @ Dedicated Audio. He has a good price on them.

If they are the pure copper version (no brass alloys) then they are indeed very good. I use them on my Merlin VSM speakers. If however they are the brass version avoid them as they do not sound as clean or natural. Brass is only 24% as conductive as pure high quality copper.Johnny
Johnny,The ones I am looking at are: Short Patented Binding Post, short billet copper posts, Rhodium over Silver plate
I have the regular all metal Cardas posts now which are the plain billet copper (no plating. The plain unplated copper really tarnishes quickly.
I am thinking that with the construction of the patented posts and plating over copper they might sound better especially because of no tarnishing.

They're fantastic posts. I use the copper with rhodium over silver. Used them on a bunch of speaker projects. Love that rock solid contact

I've been looking at these lately and I may give them a try. I currently use the Cardas CCGR binding post which are very nice.
Bad,Are the Patented posts tough to solder to?
The Cardas standard copper posts are really tough to solder.

I haven't had any problems soldering to them, using my weller digital station. They're elegant in that the metal is entirely removed from the housing before soldering, so you don't have to worry about melting plastic or whatever. Of course, the big posts are heavy, and take a lot of total heat (the ones for speaker cabs)

that I used to replace the posts on my Alons. Very good contact and a nice symplistic design. Cannot easily use them with bananas though, if that matters to anyone. Easy to solder to with a suitable gun (I use a typical Weller).
