I've found a profoundly cheap source for industrial silicon O Rings ($0.49 each). They have a maximum temperature rating of 450F.Anyone tried these as a cure for tube microphonics?

Purchased "Teflon-Encapsulated Silicone O-Rings" from McMaster-Carr in Dayton. 732-329-3200. They didn't fit! What a waste of money!A better solution for me was to use Kevlar. Refer to http://www.tnt-audio.com/clinica/ksox_e.html.
It was a lot cheaper than ordering Silicone O-Rings and, more important, they WORKED!

Hey guys, give rubber grommets a try. Pick them up at your local Eagle Hardware, Lowe's, Home Depot, etc. Get them just a smidge smaller than your tube and slide 'em on. They're unaffected by heat and work like a charm. I have them on the 6GK5s in my c-j 14 pre. Forget the ridiculously expensive aftermarket tweaks. DIY for a coupla bucks. O-rings are also available as stated earlier, in various diameters and thicknesses. They all work just fine!
When you figure out what works, please let us know where to get them. Thanks.
It's Silicone not silicon. Most silicone materials once cured, have service temperatures in the 700F range not 450F. Good idea though! You may want to experiment with different durometers. You should be able to buy silicone o-rings in a wide range of durometers with 10 point increments. Start with something in the 10 durometer range and go up to 80 durometer. Let us know how it works!Greg
