Anyone try DIY DBS for the interconnecting cables. Please share with us
Please share the diy method and post some photo on the forum

How can I connect the + and - in the cable?

Any photo and circuit for reference? If I diy active shield, what cable do I need?
3 shield or 5 shield is better?
twist or not twistthe cable?
How can pumb the air into the cable for insulation? (as silmilar as taralab cable)

Ok, so I've had a quick look for information on DBS cables...Quite simply they apply an electrical potential to one (or two) conductors in the interconnect.
These conductors may or may not carry an audio signal (patent issues).
So, what gives... the dialectric will be at a significant potential, and the polar moments will be minimised (or near nill). Thats the idea. However, as this is in effect a capacitor, there will be signal propagation through the battery by capacitative coupling - it will be attenuated, but it will be there. If this is significant in comparison to the reduction in dialectric interference is open to debate...
If you can find other ways to do this, and still use your existing cables, then I would do so.
Just my thoughts
the dielectric may become microphonic with sufficient electric field applied to it.

Yeah. That's the basic principle behind condenser microphones . :)

This is a very interesting phenomenon. So far from my experiences with Audioquest DBS, Omega Mikro "active shield," and Aural Thrills active cables, I can draw a couple of subjective conclusions.1. Voltage matters. The higher the applied voltage, the more the "effect," the effect being more refined/feathery/smoother treble and more bass power and better imaging/soundstaging. There is a point, for each system, this can be too much of a good thing.
2. DBS isn't necessarily "better" in all cases. For example, my current system configuration sounds "better" with DBS turned off. Just another tool to help fine tune a system, but do try it yourself before spending the $$$ usually associated.

Monster Cable currently has a lawsuit pending against AudioQuest claiming that AudioQuest's DBS infringes on one of their patents (Demian Martin's patent on biased dielectrics in cables which Monster Cable now owns).Given Monster Cable's past behavior, I wouldn't be at all surprised if they tried going after individual DIYers who violate their patent.
