  Definitely not a sideways move. I replaced a PS Audio P500 ($2,195) with a Hydra 4 ($595 plus cable) for its superior effect. The difference is not subtle.

  I use both original Hydra and UO. The Hydra has a much more dramatic effect on sound, to its benefit. UO comparatively smaller beneficial effect. If your choice is between the two, go with the Hydra.
