Follow Ups:
I guess I should have been a little more infomative in my first post. This is a $60.00 DIY phono pre, a very good sounding one, but still 60 bucks. The only reason I am using the Jensens is because they are left over from a mod where they wouldn'y fit. I don't believe I'd, normally use $75 worth of caps in a kit like this. I hate to see them sit on the shelf. Having to use most of the lead(w/teflon tube) I hope I could reuse these if occasion call for it. I'd love to try Chris's V-cap but they are a little to pricey for me. Anyways I settled(for now) on the Sonicaps. Thanks for everyones input. As always, it's most appteciated. Please don't let this post close the disscision. I always seem the learn a little. Thanks Again!!

I just replaced Jensen copper foil cap for the Mundorfs in the tweeter section of my speaker crossover. I prefer the Mundorfs over the Jensens, They are more transparent, dynamic and improved soundstaging.

I considered the Mundorf coppers when I bought the Jensens for an other swap. Posters help me chose the Jensens. If my budget allowed silver PIOs, I might have went for the Mundorfs! Thanks for the help.

I've been using these caps for awhile now, and hope to have a review of them posted soon, but I really really like what these caps do. I'm using them as coupling caps in a tubed linestage. I've tried several different types of caps for this application in this linestage (incl. MultiCap PPMFX, PPFX, PPFX-S, RTX, etc etc) and the V-Cap betters these in so many ways. They're expensive, but in my opinion worth it.They come in both values you're looking for.
The usual "I've never met Chris Venhaus (the manufacturer), I'm not dating his sister/mother/daughter, I don't owe him a favor etc. etc" stuff applies here.

I was contemplating changing out PPFX for V-Caps in my CDP's output coupling caps. Could you comment on some specific differences in sound?

Simply put, the V-caps provided a much more natural presentation of music in my system. With the V-caps were fully broken in there is better bass extension and control, high frequencies are more smooth but are also a bit more extended than they were with the PPFX-S caps. The soundstage is broader and deeper with the V-caps and the noise floor seems to have dropped as well as there's more easily discernable detail in recordings. However, what is important to me is that along with all of these things (in spite of them, even?) my system sounds more natural now. For example, sometimes a part change will increase "detail" retrieval in a way that allows you to better hear a drumstick on the skin of a tom drum but this increased detail sounds forced or emphasized........with the V-caps I do hear increased detail, but it seems to be in a proper context, if that makes any sense. The V-caps haven't hyped up anything in particular.....they just seem to allow more sonic cues through that provide an increased sense of the instruments and their place in the recording space.
Although I know when I hear something I like, I'm not very good at these types of descriptions. I hope this take on the V-caps is informative. I do hope to post a full write-up on these caps soon.
Thanks for the info. However, I need 4uF caps x2, and I realized I need to buy Vcap 2.0uF x4 at $300 EACH! $1200 to change out the caps!!!

Forget Digikey. Good stuff can be had from http://www.partsconnexion.com/.OR you could try Sonicaps, less expensive than many and very musical and natural and transparent.
Hey what about Audio Note Silver?? I would like them in the signal-path in my Jadis 80 but very expensive to 'JUST TRY' (I need 8 of them)?
Anybody heard these? I'm thinking they are made by Jensen,(in Copper housing), but I could be wrong!!
No, as Peter Q has observed somewhere else on AA recently, Jensen has not made caps for Audio Note since the late 90's.
Sorry my e-mail was wrong!!

If you like your Jensen Cu-PIO, go for it ... use the same with the 0.1uf value

I'm not sure I'd have enough room. Cost is a factor also! The .22s are huge the .01s have to fit between a pair of the Jensens. I haven't heard the Jensens, but wanted to try them as recommended by answers to a previous post Thaks for reading and responding to my post. It's MUCH appreciated!!
