Wassup ? Check the link, and scroll down to the "atomic trampoline". Appears that plate made from amorphous glass-metal behaves totally differently than a standard metal base... since they're offering this as a science education demo project, somebody out there IS making amorphous metal in commercial quantities. The question is....

pretty unususal material, supposedly a metal that forms like plastic, used in sporting goods for its high energy transfer... suggested use are things that move energy from one place to another, like spindles (also found today in expansive baseball bats), armor piercing projectiles, best thing they claim is that it is cheap to produce... equipment cases ? speaker baskets ? capacitor films ?Wonder how this responds to cryo treatment
