Heh, me too kicked from everywhere. Thanks God for that, so I cannot tell the truth to these people so they stay as they are.
Anyway, he claims that some cable introduces higher order harmonics!!
Is he serious, or just making joke?
Cable if not properly terminated will introduce some RF distortion, but that's not even similar to be called harmonic distortion.
I give him credit for trying to bring some brain in this brainless area, but he just brings more problems.
Anyone who wants their cables properly checked and measured should contact companies that calibrate "fancy" equipment. I would personally send it to HP. They will have all that is needed for any measurment of any cable you may ask. You will pay them about 1h labour, and get 25 pages of measuring results for any cable under all posible condition.
And this guy should send his analyzer for cal as well, obviously isn't good.
Follow Ups:
Sysinfo, you don't understand what I do or measure. I have put my measurement procedure on this website over the years. HP most probably, can't measure much better than I can.

Stop misleading people, John.

there are test results in the July issue of AudioXpress that verify John's findings of distortions within various cabling. This is an 8 page article with over a dozen graphs, charts, tables, etc... I'm sure that you and Bruno will find it to be interesting reading.Other than that, i wonder what Ben Duncan would have to say about all of this??? Sean
>PS... I didn't see this thread until after posting my original comments about the article in the Cable Asylum.

there are test results in the July issue of AudioXpress that verify John's findings of distortions within various cabling.Since Bruno's measurements went WELL below where John's equipment bottoms out and truned up no distortion, I fail to see how Charles Hansen's results verify anything more than his test equipment apparently suffers from the same problems as John's if he's measuring distortion at the same levels as John.
If the distortion products that John's measuring were indeed being produced by the cables themselves, they would have shown up even more glaringly in Bruno's measurements. However they were completely absent.

I'll call AudioXpress tomorrow and see if I can get a copy of the article.

I've no idea.
