Hi,Thank you and everyone else for your recommendations. Will the MorTite melt? My DVD player sometimes gets hot even though I made sure to not cover the ventilation slits with the sandbags.

If there was a problem with the MorTite melting, I certainly wouldn't post about it here. Others (one, I think) have complained about it "off-gassing", but it certainly doesn't do so to my nose in a closed room. Hot? Of all my gear, it's the coolest. I use my system for heat in the winter.
Larry,My old DVD player rarely became hot. I was concerned that my new Toshiba DVD player produced more heat than other Toshiba dvd players, which is why I asked about it melting. When I read about the Toshiba, it seemed that several people posted that the quality can vary by unit. I was concerned that maybe mine was slightly defective and produced more heat than normal. Its nice to know that it is not unusual for the DVD player to become hot and that it won't melt the MorTite. Thank you again for the recommendation.
