I am working on an Emerson 659-B am/fm tube radio. All the tubes light up As I increase voltage using my Variac, the filament in my pilot/power indicator light blows up.I have replaced the selenium rectifier with a 1N4007 diode and 15w 100 ohm resister. The wires for the pilot bulb come directly from the ac and b+ connections at this point. Why is my bulb blowing? See pic.
you have the schematic? link below

There should be a 68K resistor R30 in series with the neon pilot bulb.
