The last 310e's sold on ebay for $624, $575, $1,010. There was another one that has fallen off that I saw yesterday that also sold for around $600. I don't see much difference in the one that sold for $1,010 than the others. I looked on the Mapleshade site and it didn't say what they do to Scott tuners besides alignment. Do you know?
If you aren't familiar with ebay for checking sold prices, you can click on "Completed Items" on the left side and see what has sold recently, and for how much. Prices displayed in green indicate that it did sell.
I have a 310e that I listen to daily and have made some changes to. When you decide on a price, I am interested. I would like to have one as a reference as I continue to make changes.
Thank you. I will get back to you through PM when I decide what to do, give first choice.
As for the Mapleshade mods, not a lot of detailed information on what " voodoo" they do is available, LOL, I did call them when I was considering going with them and they were rather secretive about what they exactly do, other than to offer a 30 day reversible cash back offer. Maybe someone else more knowledgeable can speak to this issue. The unit when I got it back sounds subjectively wonderful and pulled in stations I was never able to before.
Geez I must be a tuner dinasaur, hooked on local classical station. What I have done so far to 310e, recapped/increased power supply capacitance, bypassed relays, replaced coupling caps with Russian PIO's, replaced 12AU7 with E80CC, replaced detector diodes, aligned with Sencore. Will redo alignment with ST1000A when I get through calibrating it and then tempted to upgrade the IF caps.
Always nice to keep a stock unit, start making changed and lose perspective of how it sounded stock.
