Does anyone have an instruction manual for the Audioprism 8500 indoor antenna? If so, would you be kind enough to send me an email (I would like to arrange to obtain a copy of the manual).
Thank you!

Hi Wayne,
Just curious, did you buy this from Byron recently? I only ask because I too was contacted but was to late in response. More importantly I would like to ask you if you are happy it's performance and do you recommend pursuing it in the used market?
Thanks,
Doug
Hi Doug:
Yes, I did get it from Byron.
I am very happy with the performance; that being said, I really don't have anything to compare it to. (My tuner has been sitting in my equipment rack for 5+ years, unused, except to try it briefly with a borrowed whip antenna to make sure it worked!) I am able to receive all the stations that I want to listen to with what appears to be very high fidelity and very little noise. FYI: All these stations are within about 30 miles of my suburban home.
So, yes, by all means, if you want an indoor antenna, I doubt you'd go wrong with the 8500.
By the way, this sucker is big - 5 ft tall and about 1 ft in diameter, and all black. The walls of my room are painted a dark color so it pretty much "disappears" against the wall. But if you have light-colored walls, the antenna would be rather conspicuous. It's certainly not a bad looking unit, but if you share your space with someone who has strong ideas about decor - and those ideas don't include "hi-fi chic" - it might cause a little domestic turmoil. :-)
Good luck!

Thank you for the response. I am glad to hear you are happy with the performance of the 8500. I believe there is nothing better for urban settings, and your early comments seem to verify this, along with some great reviews that I've read. Also getting it used, which will be the only way one will find this currently, from Byron is the best possible situations one can hope for, excellent luck! :)
As for "hi-chic", appreciate the heads-up but I believe my boat has already sailed with those attempts of blending in to a homestyle setting, my Eminent Technology 8b planars have already taken care of that, something I know you understand based on your speaker history. LOL
Lastly, and curiously what tuner are you currently using? Sadly it's so hard to find any really good local analog radio stations anymore. Free, and well broadcast music seems to have become a thing of the past and possibly soon distinct.
But for now, cheers and enjoy all that jazz....
Doug
I have a Sansui TU-9900.
After I bought it, I had it aligned and upgraded by the now defunct "Antenna Performance Specialities".

High performance indoor FM antenna includes hard wired 20' long remote control and 20' of 75 ohm coaxial cable. The 8500 is passive, phased array design with 4 possible antenna directions and 3 different gain settings selected via remote control;
So it has two adjustments, direction (or omnidirectional) and gain. direction: omni, 0, 120, or 240 degrees. Gain settings: 0 Db, -12 and -18 Db. A 12 VDC output wall adapter included. 5 feet tall x 12 in. diameter. Black with matching painted wood end pieces.
Should be easy to use now that you know this. Also since the directional adjustment does 120 degrees you might physically turn it 60 either way once you get the best setting.
Good luck

Thanks!
It was actually quite easy to set-up and I am getting very good performance.
The fidelity I get from some FM stations appears to be "cd" quality.

Question Where are you?
Bill
Scenic central New Jersey.
I see you are in Florida.
NJ would be a bit far to travel for a listening session, if that's what you had in mind...
Wayne
Just curious if you were in a major city or out in the ozarks somewhere I was considering that antenna my self when I lived in NY Thanx
Bill
Ah, I see.
I listen mostly to two stations - a nearby community college (probably broadcasting from 7 miles away), and a jazz station out of Newark (probably about 30 miles away).
Wayne
Cool! Good to hear!
