Question for Audible Illusion L1 and 3a owners

First off does the 3A sound better than the L1 or are they the same or close in character.Also i have the L1 and i want to know if this is a problem or is it normal; my left and right gain knobs on my L1 are reversed;that is the left gain makes the right speaker louder and the right gain makes the left speaker louder is this normal? I'm sure i have the speaker wires in the right spot on the amp.Please give me an answer.Thanks....

Are you sure the interconnect's are correct between pre-amp and amp?
