Greetings-I am considering puchasing a pair of the above mentioned monoblocs, however I'm confused as to the differences between the two models. They both use basically the same circuit(two 6cg7s, two El-34s, and a Gz-34 rectifier, and both amps have the Peerless power and output transformers. The 1568a is listed as a 40 watt commercial power amplifier while the 128b is referred to as a 45 watt recording studio model.Iwas also told that the 1568a has seperate bias pots for the ouput tubes, I'm not sure if this is true of the 128b.I am just trying to learn more about these two models so that I can decide which would be the better purchase.Obviously, my biggest concern is how they will sound in comparison to one another. Any information concerning this topic will be greatly appreciated, Thanks in advance for you help, Paul Lefebvre,Providence, R.I.

I don't know anything about the 128b, but IMHO the 1568 is not really a great choice for a full range amp. The output transformers leave a lot to be desired in regard to low frequency response.
Good luck,
Charles.
